Tharp's interior architecture / design plan connects this new home to the beauty of the land, with its expansive meadow views. Natural, found and unexpected materials are incorporated throughout, bringing the outdoors in with warmth, texture and the patina of age befitting a gracious country home.
Arched stone walls, beams and a custom plaster hood bestow a sense of age on this brand new Kitchen.
New wainscot paneling and wallpapered ceiling elevate the Dining Room. Original painting by Tharp hangs above a custom linen-wrapped sideboard. Rose Tarlow fabrics dress the windows and antique chairs.
The Entry gallery wall greets visitors. A gilded citrus peels wall sculpture by Sara Bumgardner beckons to the Living Room beyond.
A vintage mahogany door slides open to reveal the Living Room, cocooned in caramel grasscloth and spicy hues.
The Master Bedroom is a study in serenity, borrowing the palest colors from meadow views.
The Guest Room is envisioned as a getaway "cabin" on an upper floor of the home.
Modern elements balances textural in the Home Office. A lucite side table displays a vintage theater footlight.
The kitchen's stone, plaster and planked walls carry into the Family Room. Custom millwork offers an extra spot to lounge and enjoy the view.
Courage and Grace, an original painting by Tharp inspired by client, hangs over the plaster fireplace and hides the Family Room television.
The mudroom / pool bath almost feels like one is outside, with a sweet utility sink from the UK and exterior shingles cladding indoor walls.
