Heavy timber was likely hewn by hand to frame this early 1800's farmhouse, which had undergone recent modernization. New owners retained Lisa Tharp Design for interior architectural strategies to restore original room proportions, increase functionality, and lend character and patina to the home.
Design recommendations include revisions to first floor and master suite layouts. The expansive new space above the garage is reimagined as converted barn for entertaining and home office, complete with new ceiling beams, custom cabinetry with fine mesh door panels, and alcove for client's antique desk.
